just like i end up at the end of the week with 3 or 4 pairs of socks stuffed at the bottom of the bed from kicking them off in my sleep, i usually end up with a handful of pens scattered in the bed from falling asleep doing xwords and acrostics.
today was one of those mornings.

12/03I used to tuck pens in my hair all day to be sure I had one at the ready on the bus or during lunch when I would to puzzles.
I stopped doing that the day I came home with my hair wrapped around 5 pens and 2 pencils. It was like that scene with Edie McClurg from Ferris Bueller, I just kept finding more.

12/03The only way I can find my glasses is by tracing my steps back to the last crossword puzzle I was doing ... next to the bed? In the backyard? By the hot tub? In my backpack? Oddly enough, even though I read before falling asleep, I still manage to look at a puzzle after the reading session ... puzzle solving always wins out. -

09/11my geekly confession... At a party a couple of years back we'd all been up all night, it must have been about 9am and I of course pulled out the crossword... what better way to chill out? Anyway it was the monster one, that fills a whole newspaper page, and within maybe 20 mins I was surrounded by hungover/ still drunk partiers (most of who had given me heaps when I first pulled it out!) calling out words and debating with much gusto! Who says crosswords are anti-social! Best party I ever had!
