K, it's not exactly crossword related, but it is about words and grammar. My boss tells me off every time I say 'these ones'. According to her mother this is incorrect. She says that this is ungrammatical and an oxymoron. My partner (qualified English teacher), mother (studied English at uni) and I (neither, but I have a good grasp on our fair language!) all disagree. We are, however, having difficulty in explaining this. If anyone can give me a nice, concise, preferably authoritative sounding argument to put to her I will be forever grateful! At the risk of sounding like a loser, I'm the wordy one at work! And that's how I like it!
